わのわ（Wa no Wa）

和をモチーフに輪を広げていく

和の輪。和をモチーフに輪を広げていこうという東京タンバリンの企画です。
「着物を着たいけど、なかなか着る機会がない」「着物に興味があるけどよくわからない」といった方は結構いるようです。そんな方たちに気軽に着物を着て外出してもらい、和の世界を楽しんでもらいたい。
そういった願いから、この企画は誕生しました。
2015年5月の1回目から2016年の3回目までは茶道をモチーフにした演劇を上演。
演劇を楽しみながらいつしかお茶の世界にいざなわれていく空間を作り上げ、終演後は抹茶とお菓子を楽しむ。また、着物でご来場のお客様は割引があるなど、演劇と着物と茶道のささやかなコラボを実現しました。
今後も茶道以外のジャンルにも焦点をあて、「和」を楽しむと同時に、演劇の楽しみも知ってもらい、「和」の「輪」を広げていこうと考えています。

Wa* no Wa: Circle of Harmony. Widening our circle with harmony as our motif ? that is the aim of Tokyo Tanbarin. There seem to be a lot of people who “want to wear kimono but don’t have the opportunity” or are “interested in kimonos but don’t know enough about it.” We would love to invite them to casually don a kimono and come out to enjoy our world of harmony.

Our projects were born from this simple wish.

From our first ever performance in May of 2015 to our third production in May 2016, we produced plays with the motif of tea ceremony. We brought to life the world of tea ceremony through theater, and audiences enjoyed green tea and teacakes after the performances. We also offered discounted tickets to those who arrived in kimonos, thus building a subtle link amongst theater, kimono culture and tea ceremony.
We hope to continue to create opportunities for audiences to enjoy wa (harmony) and theater through productions beyond our tea ceremony- related plays, widening our circle of harmony.
